The results from the Lawn and meadow-workshop

The team at Gunnebo House and Gardens made a lot of footage during the Lawn and meadow cultivation in Historic Gardens-workshop in June 2022, giving examples of best practice in garden conservation. We are pleased to share all eleven videos from the sessions in Gunnebo with you all – hope you find them useful and inspiring!

The workshop focused on heritage gardening methods, and different old tools and techniques for lawn and meadow cultivation were practiced. The idea behind the workshop was to develop a deep sense of practical garden history and garden conservation connected to lawn and meadows in historic gardens. With the scythe training, the aim was to develop sufficient skills to make the participants tradition bearers for this crucial aspect of meadow cultivation and care for biodiversity. Another theme for the workshop was to highlight the latest knowledge regarding sustainable cultivation of meadows and historic lawns as well as looking at modern alternatives to lawns.
