Gardener, Audley End House and Gardens
He retired in 2000 after nearly 40 years working as a scientist in the Agrochemical industry. In April of the following year started working parttime as a gardener in the newly restored Organic Kitchen Garden at Audley End. Quickly became very interested and eventually passionate about the 120 heritage varieties of apples and 50 varieties of heritage pears. For the last 10 years have been involved with the maintenance and training of these trees. Passing on the knowledge and skills he has learnt to students and the public is very rewarding.
